BIO
Nathan is a documentary filmmaker and photographer based in Barcelona, Spain, telling character-driven stories predominantly about the environment.

Before becoming a documentary filmmaker, Nathan worked as a freelance multimedia journalist, reporting from East and Southern Africa, Europe and Southeast Asia for outlets such as CNN, The Guardian and BBC. In 2017, he worked as the photographer and videographer on a year-long investigation that uncovered large-scale illegal charcoal smuggling from Myanmar to China.

In 2021, his first feature documentary, OPEN OCEAN, premiered at the International Ocean Film Festival in San Francisco, USA and is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
​
Nathan is also the co-founder and Head of Production for Meridian, a creative agency dedicated to ocean conservation. He works extensively with scientists and non-profits including Arctic Basecamp, UNHCR, Save the Children and The Carter Center.
